Arundeep S. Pradhan MS, RTTP

Apio President and Co-Founder

A member of the Association of University Technology Managers since 1988, Arundeep was elected as the president of the AUTM in 2009 and the AUTM Foundation in 2010. He served on the AUTM Board of Trustees 2006 to 2010. He has also served on the boards of many startups.

In 2012, Arundeep co-founded Apio, LLC and also worked for Foresight Science & Technology as their vice president. Arundeep is the president at Apio, and works with clients across the US, Europe, China, Thailand and Saudi Arabia on training and mentoring, technology transfer, strategic and business plans, policy matters, and as an expert witness. He is on the professional development faculty at AUTM and has been an invited speaker on licensing, intellectual property management, negotiations, innovation assessment, technology transfer operations, entrepreneurship and startups at national and international meetings.

Arundeep is passionate about engaging with innovators and entrepreneurs to learn about their research and work with them to determine its commercial viability, develop business plans, and commercialization strategies.Working with clients across the world, Arundeep values the many different needs within an innovation ecosystem and the differing nature of innovation ecosystems based on available resources. Whether it’s through licensing, collaborations, or joint ventures and the different roles that academic institutions can undertake.

He is experienced in technology commercialization in the fields of agriculture, chemicals, software and electronics. Arundeep has also worked extensively with city, state and federal economic development agencies to promote technology commercialization and regional economic growth. Arundeep is an expert in negotiations, strategy, operations and management as well as forging multi-partner, multi-national alliances.

Arundeep received his B. Pharm (Hons.) from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science and Masters from the University of Utah. He started working at the University of Utah's technology transfer office in 1987 and subsequently established the technology transfer office at Colorado State University in 1999. In 2004, he moved to Portland, Oregon to head the office at Oregon Health & Science University.
