Kristin is an entrepreneur at heart. Over the course of her career she has launched, or helped launch, over 50 for-profit and nonprofit companies.

Kristin founded Apio in 2012 and has served as director of programs at the University of Northern Colorado, and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). She has also served as Vice President for Marketing and Communications at the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM). Prior to technology transfer, Kristin worked in two sectors – one in finance where she learned the ins-and-outs of investment and equity financing, and the other as CEO of a startup nonprofit medical association.

In addition to startups, she has particular expertise in marketing, research collaborations, and strategic communications, web management, and software development.

For nearly a decade, Kristin served as Chair/Co-Chair of AUTM Professional Development Courses, teaching courses in marketing and working to develop and enhance curriculum.  She has a Bachelor of Science with majors in bioscience and music, and a Master of Business Administration in technology entrepreneurship and law. In her spare time she plays clarinet with her local community band, loves to hike and ski, and is a member of the Portland Beer Choir.
