The First Pro-Fragrance Delivery System Based on a Vitamin Scaffold

Screen Shot 2021-03-17 at 1.22.17 PM.png

A Paradigm Shift in Delivery

VitaScents release in the presence of neutral water – including sweat or moisture in the air – and can be synthesized in high yields in one step from vitamin B6 without waste, byproducts, or purification.

  • Other pro-fragrances can have significant degradation.

  • The system shows complete fidelity releasing the desired alcohol in the presence of neutral water.

  • Instead of relying on evaporation rates, the VitaScents delivery system chemically bonds the fragrance to safe, abundant, and bio-renewable vitamin B6.

Slow Release Technology

  • Vitamin-based acetals function as water-triggered pro-fragrances.

  • Acetal releases the alcohol for over 10 hours in pure water.

  • Release leaves only safe, natural vitamin and fragrance after cleavage.

  • Longer lasting fragrance is not dictated by vaporization rates.

Safe, inexpensive Alternative to encapsulation

Customers desire safe, natural, environmentally-benign products, particularly when applied to the skin or hair.

  • Current methods of fragrance delivery are based on encapsulation technologies, using waxes, gels, or emulsions to deliver fragrances.

  • VitaScents is the one of only two water-triggered pro-fragrances. (The other is a carcinogenic and expensive ionic liquid system.)
