APIOiX was founded in 2012. In Latin, the word “Apio” means to connect or join. At APIOiX, connection and partnership are values we rely on each day as we do our work.
Our Work
APIOiX accelerates innovation and entrepreneurship through collaborative programs, training, and management. We design and execute strategies for innovation management programs, early stage innovations, and entrepreneurial opportunities at universities, governments, and small-to-medium enterprises.
Our team includes expert practitioners in all aspects of innovation transfer and ecosystem development: intellectual property management, patent law, opportunity assessment, training, mentoring, marketing, licensing, negotiations, industry partnerships, arbitration/mediation, and expert witness services.
Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program Support, Small Business Technical and Business Assistance
APIOiX innovation and entrepreneurship provides program support and development to universities, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations, as well as Technical and Business Assistance (TABA), particularly to small businesses with funding from the U.S. SBIR-STTR program.
Licensing and Business Development
APIOiX provides licensing and business development activities for universities and startups, with special focus on non-U.S. organizations seeking to gain international exposure for their technologies.

Interreg Italia-Malta: APIOiX worked with the University of Malta to conduct intellectual property rights training as well as to provide ongoing training and mentorship to technology transfer personnel.
National Academies of Sciences: APIOiX’s Ray Wheatley presented technology transfer training in Egypt in collaboration with the National Acadamies, AUTM, and the Egyptian Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF).
U.S. Department of State, Consulate Kolkata: Designed, implemented, and presented two Intellectual Property Symposia in partnership with the AUTM Foundation.
King Faud University of Petroleum and Minerals 2020 IP Forum: APIOiX president Arundeep Pradhan served as Keynote Speaker.
Patent Office of Poland, IP Symposium: “From Startup to Scale Up” presentation by APIOiX managing director Ray Wheatley.
