Background

APIOiX was founded in 2012. The name was chosen because the word, “Apio,” means to connect or join. At APIOiX, connection and partnership are values we rely on each day as we do our work.

Our Work

APIOiX accelerates innovation and entrepreneurship through collaborative programs, training, and management. We design and execute educational and public service programs and strategies for early stage innovations and entrepreneurial opportunities, whether from universities, governments, or small-to-medium enterprise.

Our team includes expert practitioners in all aspects of innovation transfer and ecosystem development: intellectual property management, patent law, opportunity assessment, training, mentoring, marketing, licensing, negotiations, industry partnerships, arbitration/mediation, and expert witness services.

Small Business Technical and Business Assistance

APIOiX provides Technical and Business Assistance (TABA), particularly to small businesses with funding from the U.S. SBIR-STTR program.

SBIR/STTR grant mentoring and training are a key aspect of our work. Services are available to qualified technology entrepreneurs across the U.S.

The majority of our SBIR/STTR work currently focuses on Nevada, for SAGE: The Sierra Accelerator for Growth and Entrepreneurship. SAGE is a public-private partnership launched with the University of Nevada, Reno and expanded to include the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. SAGE was funded under a cooperative agreement from U.S. Small Business Administration’s Federal and State Technology Partnership Program with ongoing support from the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

Licensing and Business Development

APIOiX provides licensing and business development activities for universities and startups, with special focus on non-U.S. organizations seeking to gain international exposure for their technologies.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship Training & Events
